Flavor of the Month
Welcome to our new "Flavor of the Month". February's flavor, Rose, takes its inspiration from Valentine's Day and the current trend in floral flavors. For centuries Rose has traditionally been used as a flavor within ethnic food, particularly in Middle Eastern & Indian cuisine. Until the 19th Century American and European bakers used Rosewater as a key ingredient in their baking before the fashion for vanilla took hold.
Today Ungerer’s range of Rose flavors can be used to add an exciting new dimension to a variety of applications. These include alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages, desserts, in particular syrups, panna cotta, ice creams and sorbets. In addition the trend for French style macaroons is growing and looks set to be bigger than the fashion for cupcakes, featuring exotic flavors such as rose and violet.
